Progressive death metal that brings in elements of a wide array of touchpoints. Voivod, Edge of Sanity, Death, Dissection... you get the idea. But the influences are combined in a way that make "Offscourings" a truly unique standout release from 2021. There is just a level of passion and craft that is not found in your everyday independent release. Give this one a listen or five - this shit is an addictive monster that gets better each time I hear it. Hard props. bcb723

I wasn't big on these guys on record, but then I saw them live and that guitar tone translates *really* well. They gained a fan at that show, even if I still think they could trim some fat. zirtonic

Some of the best cosmic black metal I've heard. Mare Cognitum continues to prove themselves to be masters of crafting a vast, celstial soundscape, and the Lovecraft-esque atmosphere present throughout Aureole's half definitely made me want to check out the rest of their discography. honeycombguy
